Solocator is a GPS camera for fieldwork. Overlay and stamp images with GPS place, compass direction, altitude, date & time taken + with Industry Package (IAP) capture editable notes such as project name and image description, road address and UTM/MGRS coordinate formats. It can auto save 2 images to camera roll at once - Stamped image and original image. You can also view image direction and place in map view and navigate there. Tom Thompson: Limited to No Setup Choices Not an Apple fanboy but I have seen how much better the iOS apk is from my employees. My largest problem is the apk does not let you to select an external SD card for storing data, probably an iPhone carryover. Would have given it 3.5 stars, so I rounded up. It is a $0.99 apk.

Alberto Soto: I like it but... I am a Personal Investigator and I purchased the apk in order to present clients my place during surveillance work. I like the apk but have a few recommendations. Create the capture sound a choice for the player, not default. The ability to zoom would be good, the time and date could be on the banner with the another details or right below. This method the image can be cropped for closer inspection of topics for example and the image info wont be lost. Thank you. PS. A Video ver would be good!!

julie ross: Useful program but can be slow and buggy. Accidently clicked 'lock gps place' on and it auto kicks me out. Trying a reinstall. If possible, should be improved with ability to save image file names as image comments to help with find and archive functionality.

WX1013 Productions: Maybe something but not working for me The concept is awesome but it is only correct when I am using my "selfie" camera. If I use my front camera the compass point is opposite. North is south and south is north. But, if I turn the smartphone up side down but facing the same direction, then the compass reads correctly.

Rheanna Neidinger: The iPhone ver was method, method better: Label and description overlay, Elevation overlay, Accuracy Overlay, Date and Time overlay was proportionately-sized. I continue to suggest this apk to every field biologist I train, but I am growing increasingly frustrated with the android device ver. I am having to use extra resources to compensate for the lack of features, which has increased the time needed to complete reports (since switching from iPhone). Where are the android device updates?

Mary Seagrave: Not the same as the iOS ver This apk has not been updated with the features given to the iOS apk. My employees that use this on their iPhones rave about the extra setting options like it automatically saving the picture with and without the compass frame. Android device players have the same options we've had for years. It does the job, but in iOS I'd give it a 5. Here it's a 3.

Missing is the option to have apk save both the HighRes pic with only the metadata added and the "bannered" pic with data on face of pic and metadata Android device ver needs to be upgraded. Image are blury. Especially when you zoom in to an aspect of the picture. Change settings for a picture shoot and it does ok. But upon closiing apk, then opening....settings are restart.

Allen Oyakawa: Overlay compass radial readings to inacurate! The straight on direction is fine. But the relevant side compass readings (actual angle reading to the left & right side of the center straight on reading) are greatly inaccurate. This condition needs to be adjustable per each camera brand & each model because each device will have a various overall view angle. The application needs a function to able to adjust the angles readings to each side of the straight ahead bearing reading. Myself using it for view corridors for architectural view reference photos.
