Go on a shore excursion and be notified if your anchor drags with the app’s notification capabilities. Or stay on board and keep an alarm sounds. Alarms for: * GPS Off * GPS Not Accurate * Exiting Guard Place * Reentering Guard Place * Low Battery * Low Memory All alarms can be configured for all or none of the following: * Sound on your device * Send Email notice * Call phone We suggest that you do not use the GPS Off or the GPS Not Accurate alarms since this can happen frequently and can become annoying. The Exiting alarm email includes the following info: * Distance outside guard place (feet/meters) * Speed the boat is moving (mph, km/h) * Direction (bearing) If you choice to send email notices you must have a Gmail acc. It also requires your Gmail password. The apk contains Battery Saver technology. This technology reduces the GPS refresh rate when you boat is sitting still. When your boat exits the guard place or is moving quickly on the hook the GPS refresh rate is increased to give you quicker notifications of changes. Battery Saver will also reduce GPS refresh rate when the battery is getting low. The apk also contains Smart Memory Manager technology which monitors the app’s memory usage and reduces it if needed. First it will remove old drift paths. If more reduction is still needed, the apk will turn off Google Maps and use the non-map display. If even more reduction is needed, the apk will turn off all map display and run with no display. Configuration options contain: * Troops (English/Metric) * GPS Accuracy (feet/meters) * Smartphone Number * Exited Place Notification Interval (mins) * Map Options o Use Google Maps or data saving non-map display * Display drift path (on/off) * Boat Size (length/width/freeboard) * Anchor Kind (all chain/all rope/both) * Adjust Guard Place (change anchor spot/change radius) Anchor options are: Auto Set method: This is the easiest anchor way. It uses your device GPS to determine your approach pattern to the anchor place. All you need to do is: 1. Have the apk running before approaching the anchorage 2. At any time after you have anchored press the Set button The Guard Place is now active. Automatic Calculation way involves: Having the apk running before approaching the anchorage. Once anchored: 1. Enter the water depth. With the line out taught: 2. Press the Set button. The Guard Place will then be active. When you enter the water depth the apk will than present you the suggest amount of anchor line. This is based on the Anchor Kind ratio. Both the ratio and the Line Length can be changed. The Two Point way involves: 1. Standing over the anchor spot and press the app’s Set button 2. Move to the back of your boat and with the anchor line out taught press the app’s Set button The Guard Place will then be active. The Manual way involves 1. Entering the GPS coordinates of the anchor location 2. Entering one of the following: • Guard size (feet/meters) • Current location • GPS coordinate The Guard Place will then be active. Whichever map option you have selected the apk will display the Guard Place with a boat icon and if you have chosen drift path it will present the boat’s movement. The boat icon is scaled to your boat size so the display shows the correct relationship of your boat to the Guard Place.
